| SWANEPOEL
RETURNS TO THE UK
Date: 13 November 2008
After contending the British MX2 championship on Kawasaki
over the last several seasons, South
African, Gareth Swanepoel will be returning to the UK in
2009 to fight for the British MX1 title.
An experienced campaigner in the British Championship Gareth
will be looking to exert maximum
pressure from the start after a winter training on the all
new Fuel Injected KX450F machine.
Gareth Swanepoel: “I’m really excited to be representing
Kawasaki at the British MX Champs next year.
I’ll be racing the factory KX450F-SR, so we will focus
on challenging for the British MX1 title. It’s always
great racing in the UK as I have a lot of fans and friends
who support me at the races and I’m looking
forward to racing in front of them. It will also be the perfect
opportunity to get some serious race time on
the new bike and with a good line up of riders it will be
excellent preparation for the GP’s”.
UK Race Co-ordinator Alex Brawn: “We have built up
a great relationship with Gareth during his years
racing with Kawasaki in the UK, and are hugely excited about
him riding in the British Championship for
2009. The British Championship is without doubt a tough one,
so it is a great championship to compete in
alongside the GP’s to keep a riders focus. With the
successes we have shared over the last few years in
the British Championship with the collaboration of KRT, I
am sure 2009 will be another exciting season for
Kawasaki”.
