7TH AT FARLEIGH CASTLE
Date: 15 August 2010
Gareth Swanepoel contested Round 6 of the British Motocross
Championship on the historic and natural flowing motocross
circuit of Farleigh Castle yesterday.
In the opening of the 3 short races ‘Swanie’ grabbed
solid start, rounding out lap one in 6th position, before
quickly getting into the top 4. A series of mistakes then
relegated the GP regular back down to 7th before finding
a good rhythm. Swanepoel finally got back into 4th place
where he finished the race.
In moto 2 a poor start left ‘Swanie’ with some
work to do as he sat in 13th place at the end of lap 1. Throughout
the race Swanepoel slowly worked his way back up the score
sheets, eventually finishing in 6th position.
The final race of the day would see Swanepoel grab a decent
start as he chased Sword for 2nd position, but again some
mistakes and a fall cost ‘Swanie’ as he dropped
back. At the end of a difficult race the number 8 Honda crossed
the finish line in 7th position.
“
I battled today. I found it hard to get into a good rhythm
all day, and simply battled to gel with the bike on this
particular circuit.” Commented Swanepoel.
