3 races into the GP season
Hi Everyone

Well we are three races into the GP season and I have to say so far it’s been tough. The season kicked off in Bulgaria and the track and weather were just fantastic. I qualified 8th which I was happy with but my starts let me down on race day. The 1st race I got out the gate around 11th but took a while to get going and lost a few places. I managed to get going ten minutes in and made my way back to 11th finishing really strong. The 2nd moto I got caught up in the 1st corner and ended up in 27th on lap 1 so I had to get my head down and work really hard and I managed to get all the way back to 13th .A tough but good day in 12th overall.

The 2nd round was in Italy and I really like the track in Mantova but unfortunately things did not go to plan. I went down on the start in the qualifying race and only made my way back to 24th at the end of the short 20min qualifying heat. I did not have the best start gate for Sunday so my starts were not great and I ended up a very disappointing 15th and 14th for 14th overall.

Our 3rd round was just down the road in Holland at Valkenswaard. Again another one of my favourite tracks and the track I got my 1st GP podium at. We have been having really good weather and the track was slightly less sandy then it usually is but still great to ride. Unfortunately once again I got taken down in qualifying, this time on the 2nd corner and got up dead last and managed to get all the way back up to 21st by the end of the 20 min moto. Again It was tough for me to get a good start from that gate and I did not get a great start the 1st moto and my goggles broke on the 1st lap so I was in 21st place without any goggles. I just got stuck in and made my way all the way up to 11th but on the last lap I got stuck behind 2 back markers and could not see much and the one crashed right in front of me and I had to stop and lost a position so I ended up 12th.
The 2nd race I got a better start and I was in 10th at the end of the 1st lap goggles on and going well. I made a few passes but I got passed too and pretty much was around 10th all race and I ended up 10th as well as 10th overall. I have to say I was happy with that considering how badly qualifying went.

I am lying 13th in the championship but its still really tight to 7th and if I can manage to stay out of trouble in qualifying I can start getting better starts and battling up front.

I am having a week off riding this week to give my body some time to recover and freshen up for the weekend. It’s the 3rd round of the British championship this weekend in Scotland and I am only 9 points off the lead of the championship so I am looking forward to doing something about that. Then we are off to Portugal for round 4 of the world championship and it should be quite warm there which is going to suite me and I am sure I can put things together there.

Until next time

Keep giving it horns
