I thought I had better update you all. I am just back from the UK where I had a pretty good race at the weekend, now moved into 2nd in the British Championship.
So far my 1st year in the mx1 has been up and down, but on the whole pretty good. I am lying 9th in the world championship and 2nd in the British championship. I have had a bit of bad luck in the beginning of the year in the British with some start crashes and some bike problems but we are managing to turn it around.
The GP’s have been tough and racing the 450 has been a steep learning curve but I am getting the hang of it. My goal was to finish top 10 and so far so good. My best race result has been a 6th and my best overall has been an 8th but we have 4 more GP’s left and the next one is lommel which is 10 km from my house and then the 2nd last GP is at Lierop which is another deep sand track and one of my favourites so I am looking forward to getting some top 5 results before the end of the season.
With Kawasaki we have been doing some testing, we have a new motor now, which will hopefully be good at Lommel this coming weekend.
On the relaxing and family side, I was over in Germany a few weeks ago with a friend there, we had a good old South African braai, so that was good fun. It sounds far away when I say Germany, but it is actually only just over an hour from my place.
My parents arrive from SA in the morning, they are staying for 2 weeks, so looking forward to seeing them. My mother hasn’t been over for 2 years, so she hasn’t even seen the house I bought last year!!
